18 Jan

Series: Elijah

Sermon Title: Battling Loneliness

Sermon in a Sentence: Loneliness is a choice we make. As a Christian we are part of a team

Bible Verses Use: 1 Kings 19:10-18, Psalm 139:7-12

Weekend Scale of Difficulty: 7 out of 10

Attendance: 51 with 2 New Students

Understandable Message: Loneliness is something that everyone feels from time to time. However loneliness is a choice. Hang in there with me before you start sending the emails…God is always with us, therefore we are never alone.

Loneliness Comes From:

  1. Forgetting about God
  2. Relying on your own strength
  3. Listening to your critics
  4. After a spiritual victory

When you feel lonely remember you are never alone; God is with you. Being a Christian is not an individual sport; its a team sport. If you are a believer you have put on Christs jersey.  You have joined a team of other believers who are there to encourage you, celebrate with you, and to help you in your time of need. Weather you are a Christian, or checking out God, you are never alone. Reach out to Him, He loves you, and He is always there. Psalm 139:7-12 Reach out to others who God has placed in your life to help you. Loneliness is a choice, you are never alone.

Grade: B

Final Thought: When I feel alone, to who or what do I turn to?
