Sermon in a Sentence: How can we deal with our fears?

Bible Verses Use: 1 Kings 19:1-8, Romans 8:31, 1 Peter 5:8

Weekend Scale of Difficulty: 6 out of 10

Attendance: 53 with 4 New Students

Understandable Message: We all have fears. Movies, the dark, spiders, opening up to people, failure, public speaking, etc. Dealing or not dealing with our fears can have a huge effect on our lives. Fears left unchecked, can over power us, and consume us. Fear can keep you from the best things that God has planned for you.

Three ways we deal with Fear:

  1. Avoid the Source- This fear can be both good and bad. You may have a fear of running in traffic, that could keep you alive! You could have a fear of letting others know the real you. This could result in not having authentic relationships.
  2. Get some Rest- When we are tired, our fears can seam enourmous! Get some rest, more times than not, your fears are not as big as they seam.
  3. Seek Assistance- Get some help from a trusted friend, or family member. Someone who has a Kingdom mindset, and your best interest at heart. Even if they tell you what you don’t want to hear!

Grade: B

Final Thought: Are my fears greater than God?
