Labels- Week 2

15 Oct

Teaching Series: Labels

Sermon Title: How we label ourselves

Sermon in a Sentence: How we see ourselves and how God sees us

Bible Verses Used: Luke 12:6-7, Ephesians 2:1-10, Psalm 139:13-14

Scale of Difficulty: 4 out of 10

Attendance: 38 down by 8% Fall Break

Service Length: 90min

Understandable Message: Tonight we dove into how we label ourselves. What is it that we see when we look in the mirror. Do we buy the lie? When we have labels attached to us, whether good or bad, and the danger is that we become those labels. We see and seek our value in those things, or lack of value in some cases. When we look in the mirror, we can’t see who God created us to be. God created us in His image, we are His masterpieces. Its time to see ourselves as masterpieces, and then to start living like it.

Grade: B+

Volunteer/Student Involvement: Jeremy and Ryan on the board, Roni at check in and helped with games. Makena and Ryan were good sports and let me label them on stage with stars and dots.

Element of Fun/Positive Environment: Played a version of Jeopardy, students sang, and even dance! Then we played a version of dodge ball with an outer circle and an inner circle. The large group on the outside tried to tag the inner circle students with up to 6 balls!

Music Playlist: Music played on the iPod during the hang out time, no band tonight 😦
Favorite Moment: Go to see some old faces that have been absent due to sports. Seeing the faces connecting with the message tonight, so cool. I LOVE it when things just click.
