Weekend Rewind- Bulls Eye Living Week 2

23 Aug

Weekend Teaching Series: Bulls Eye Living

Sermon Title: Week

Sermon in a Sentence: The Worlds view of values and what is important versus God’s view of values and what is important.

Weekend Scale of Difficulty: 6 out of 10

Attendance: 51

Service Length: 60min

Understandable Message: 5 out of 10 Some of the students understood what they valued, others had really never thought about it. Once they had written out some of the things they valued in life(family, friends, sports, honesty, and oh yeah God!) I asked them are they spending time there? If I were to watch their lives for one week, I could tell them what they placed the most value on. The question then was, are the things they said they valued, what they really value? Were there some areas of life where they were posing? (school, friends, church) The challenge was to take a look, to start focusing more on the things they value, and get rid or trim down the things that are holding them back. (a relationship, texting, MySpace, web surfing) Like a runner with a backpack full of rocks…maybe they need to ditch that pack!

Grade: B+

Volunteer/Student Involvement:

Element of Fun/Positive Environment: Had them fill out what they would want their epitaph to read. Kid of morbid, but I think it drove the point home.

Music Playlist: N/A

Favorite Moment: Looking out at 20 students and seeing 38 sets of eyes, focused! Well can’t win them all right?
